| The Department of Posts has undertaken - 'IT Modernization of Department of Posts' which include single integrated modular software, Core Banking, Mobile remittances, networking of all Post Offices, and introduction of simplistic but highly scalable IT procedures and infrastructure. We have hired Accenture as our IT consultant and they are in process of studying Current Process and procedures for making high level IT strategy road map. The Project Management Unit has been setup at the directorate to undertake this objective. |

| New application for Internet Kiosk (Sparsh) |

| The Internet kiosk application (Sparsh) has been converted into 13 languages. A number of other new features have been introduced. Before this application is launched, it has to be tested thoroughly especially the language translation component. The application can be loaded in any computer with Windows Vista. The new Sparsh application can be accessed from PTC Mysore FTP site |
